last weekend my family gathered for the annual Murphree Family Reunion. we have a very unique family. family from all over texas gather in Comanche, TX to hang out at the lake for the weekend. the reunion started with my Papa's brothers and sisters and their kids and now it is their grandkids, great grandkids, and some great great grandkids. we are all family, cousins. we may only see each other one weekend every year and we may be barely related because we are so far down the family line, we still consider each other family. this weekend is something we all look forward to every year, while most people dread huge family reunions. this is a tradition in our family that i hope continues, and i hope my kids get to experience the unique family they are apart of. the best part of our family is that we are not only blood family (and some of us barely that), but we are part of the family of God as well.
